The newest generation of batching plants from Liebherr-Mischtechnik, part of the Liebherr group, are available as mobile versions known as Mobilmix. As a double plant with three-cubic-metre twin-shaft mixers, the Mobilmix 3.0 A-R can supply up to 250 cubic metres of concrete per hour and can be set up or moved in very short time periods.
Up to 280 cubic metres of aggregates can be stored in the eight chambers of the series silos, and the four separate chambers can be filled from one side by means of swivelling partitions. As such, the double batching plant can be fed efficiently and quickly due to the centralised access to both series silos. Up to six types of binding agent with a total capacity of 600 tonnes can be stored in the cement section.
A recently delivered package saw the plant fully installed within two weeks thanks to easy-to-assemble components, with it being ready for concrete production a week later.
The plants use frequency converters to control the drives on the weighing belt, charger skip, cement section and mixer. The manufacturer says this can result in energy savings of up to 30 per cent, and hybrid mixing processes and shorter mixing times can be achieved, with reductions in power peaks. The company also says there is also a reduction in wear thanks to the smooth starting and stopping of the drives.
The company adds that the frequency converters offer the greatest and most important potential in the dosing of cement with an accuracy of plus or minus 0.5 per cent, explaining that with a typical recipe using 300 kg of cement per cubic metre of concrete, up to 7.5 kg of cement can be saved. Furthermore, the two twin-shaft mixers can adjust the speed during the mixing process to enable even more precise recipes.
