Amir Abd El Halim has joined WSP Canada Inc. as the company’s new regional leader for Ontario and its Atlantic operations. He will work alongside Sebastien Fecteau in the Quebec Region and Peter Hatcher in the Western Region and Territories to provide strategic advisory, engineering, and design services to clients in the transportation, infrastructure, environment, building, power, energy, water, mining and resources sectors.

“Amir brings a wealth of industry experience that will be invaluable for leading our strategic direction in the Ontario and Atlantic markets,” said Marie-Claude Dumas, president and CEO of WSP in Canada. “I am excited to work alongside Amir as we strive to create the sustainable, future-ready solutions that are needed to help Canada progress towards a net zero future.”

With more than 20 years working in the North American engineering consulting space, Abd El Halim has provided executive leadership to large multi-disciplinary businesses, with a proven track record in growing businesses, driving change, delivering results, and putting people first. Most recently, he was the Ontario senior vice-president of operations for Englobe, a role that followed a 17-year career at Stantec that progressed to a vice-president and regional leadership position. Abd El Halim holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering (environmental), a master of civil engineering degree in transportation, and a PhD in civil engineering (infrastructure management).
