Bird Construction to build Lake City Studios

Bird Construction Inc. has been awarded a contract for construction of Lake City Studios in Burnaby, B.C. Once complete, Lake City Studios will be a world-class film studio with the potential to attract major productions and support the overall growth of the film industry locally.

Owned by Lake City Industries Limited Partnership, the project has a contract value in excess of $200 million and includes over 1.3 million square feet of space. The contract for the film studio includes the development of 21 sound stages, production offices, general office space, storage and workshops, an underground parkade, as well as site works and landscaping.
