Boasting a seven per cent increase in fuel efficiency over the 657G WTS, Cat’s new 657 Wheel Tractor-Scraper (WTS) delivers lower cost earthmoving and greater productivity.
The 657 is the largest open bowl scraper in the Caterpillar line, with a rated load of 46.4 tonnes. It includes an improved onboard payload estimating system that is 95 per cent accurate, making it easier for operators to more easily reach target load goals.
The WTS has a two-engine design, with a Cat C18 powering the tractor and a Cat C15 running the scraper.
To improve comfort in the cab, the new model features 21 per cent more space inside with an air suspension seat and an Advance Ride Management system to adjust damping to match ground conditions. Temperature control and defroster come standard.
