Jeannine Martin is the new president of the Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA). The VRCA Board of Directors announced the appointment, which became effective on Tuesday, August 8, earlier this week.

The association says that her extensive construction industry knowledge positions Martin well as she leads the team charged with the tasks of elevating member engagement, meeting and anticipating member priorities, and demonstrating industry leadership and advocacy on a regional level.

“The board of directors of the VRCA is pleased to introduce Jeannine Martin as the president of the VRCA. Her extensive history in construction and passion for the industry resonated with every board member,” stated VRCA chair, Will Pauga. “Her appointment to the president’s role is crucial at this time of inclusion for all groups underrepresented in the construction industry. One of her main priorities will be advocating for a more inclusive industry, which is part of VRCA’s strategic plan.”

With over 25 years of industry experience in private construction and engineering, and leadership on local industry boards, including the British Columbia Construction Roundtable (BCCR) and the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – British Columbia (ACEC-BC), the association says that Martin understands the challenges and opportunities facing B.C.’s construction industry.

Her extensive experience working with government agencies and construction professionals within the industry will help as she focuses on building connections with VRCA members, stakeholders, and staff; organizes VRCA’s strategic plan; works with the British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) to continue to advance prompt payment legislation and other topline issues; and continues the development of VRCA’s reconciliation action plan.

VRCA represents more than 750 general contractors, trade contractors, manufacturers and suppliers, and professional service providers in the construction industry.
