CVTech Group’s subsidiaries awarded $50M in new contracts

CVTech Group Inc. announced that its subsidiaries have been awarded new contracts worth a total value of roughly $50.7 million.

Hydro-Québec awarded CVTech Group’s subsidiary, Thirau ltée, with a $17 million contract to build two 6-km sections of 315 kV electricity transmission lines. The lines will feed the Lanaudière substation in Joliette and connect the Blainville substation to the grid. Work is expected to begin in May and should continue until November. Approximately 100 workers will be employed on the project.

U.S. subsidiary Riggs Distler & Company Inc. received new contracts worth $33.7 million (US$30.7 million), which include the following:

  • A US$15.5 million contract for the construction of three ground mounted solar systems totalling 25 MW in New Jersey. A total of 195 employees will be assigned to these projects, which are expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2014.
  • A US$7.7 million contract for mechanical work at a power generation facility in New Jersey. This project will be carried out during the second quarter of 2014 and will require about 60 workers.
  • A master service agreement estimated at US$7.5 million over three years to carry out work on the natural gas distribution network of a major utility service provider in Maryland. This multi-year contract will begin on June 1 and is expected to employ about 30 workers.
