Subsidiaries of CVTech Group awarded $45M in new contracts

CVTech Group Inc. announced that three of its subsidiaries have been awarded five new contracts worth a total of $45 million.

Thirau ltée won two contracts from Hydro-Québec for more than $21 million. The first, valued at $20.6 million, is for the construction of 33-km 230 kV double-circuit electricity transmission line between the Saint-Césaire and Bedford substations. Construction will start before the end of October and it is expected to be completed around May 2014.

The second, a $500,000 contract for pole planting work in the north shore region, will start before the end of October and take about five months to complete.

CVTech’s U.S subsidiary, Riggs Distler & Co., was awarded two contracts in New Jersey worth about $17.5 million.

One is a three-year, $12 million contract to operate and maintain a 40 MW solar panel array until the end of 2016. The other is a $5 million contract from a utility provider to rebuild a 138 kV electricity line, beginning in the fourth quarter of this year and finishing during the first quarter of 2014.

And lastly, Ontario-based subsidiary, Riggs Distler Inc., was awarded a $7.2 million contract to maintain and upgrade the electricity distribution network of a Toronto utility service provider. That contract will be carried out over a one-year period, beginning in the fourth quarter of 2013.
