Aecon awarded $275M in Western Canadian mining, energy contracts

Aecon Group Inc. has been awarded two contracts worth a total of $275 million for mining and energy projects in Saskatchewan and Alberta.

A $200 million contract with K+S Potash Canada for work on their legacy mining project in Saskatchewan involves mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation. Work is scheduled to begin in December and expected to be complete in the second half of 2016.

North West Redwater (NWR) Partnership also awarded Aecon’s energy segment for structural steel erection, fabrication and module assembly work for interconnecting pipe racks at the NWR Sturgeon Refinery in Sturgeon County, Alta. Work is expected to be complete in the fourth quarter of 2015.
