Aecon adds new board member

Joseph Carrabba has been appointed to Aecon’s board of directors.

Carrabba is the outgoing chairman, president and CEO of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc., a position he held since 2005. 

He has more than 20 years of experience in the mining industry throughout Canada, the United States, Asia, Australia, and Europe, and prior to joining Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. he worked as president and CEO of Rio Tinto’s Diavik Diamond Mines, Inc. in the Northwest Territories.

He is also a director of Newmont Mining Corporation, KeyCorp, National Mining Association, American Iron and Steel Institute, Capital University Board of Trustees and the Frostburg State University Foundation.  And he holds a bachelor of arts from Capital University in Ohio and a master of business administration from Frostburg State University in Maryland.
