Road Widener’s Curb Backfiller accessory for its FH-R material placement attachment extends to the left or right of the FH-R to precisely dispense material over the curb to backfill with dirt or aggregate. Paired with the FH-R, the accessory is designed to boost efficiency, accuracy and safety by replacing a backfilling method typically done manually by workers with shovels. Crew members can operate the unit with the original FH-R remote.
“We recognize the tremendous labour shortage our customers are facing; and it’s taking a toll on their ability to complete work. We have always sought to design solutions to limit labour and increase safety,” said Jeremy Dehnel, director of sales at Road Widener LLC. “This really comes down to efficiency and how the Curb Backfiller accessory accelerates project timelines, increases safety and cuts out unnecessary steps in the backfilling process.”
The unit attaches to the FH-R and can fill on the righthand side by default, or the left, with dual configuration. It is designed to backfill curbs while keeping debris off the roadway, eliminating the usual cleanup process that may include the use of street sweepers.
Designed for such applications as residential developments with new curb and parking lots with green space requiring backfill, the accessory features a protective wheel that prevents the accessory from scraping against curbs, which helps keep new curbs intact.
