With the availability of electric vehicles in the commercial van space in mind, Ranger Design has added composite aluminum shelving to its storage solutions offerings. Using the latest in advanced composite materials from powersport and anti-ballistic applications, the new shelving line provides the same load capacity as the company’s steel shelving, but with a 25 per cent reduction in weight.

The new aluminum-alloy end panels are coated with a protective finish that Ranger says improves smudge- and abrasion-resistance, while also eliminating the need for PVC film, reducing packaging and simplifying installation.

Each shelf combines aluminum extrusions with a honeycomb composite, providing improved noise mitigation as well as protection across a wider range of chemicals. The manufacturer has 14 new solutions available in seven widths and two heights, allowing for a tailored fit for today’s fleets.
