A 13- or 14-speed automated manual transmission is now available for TerraPro cabover concrete pumpers powered by the 13-litre Mack MP8 engine.
Mack Trucks announced the new option earlier this month at World of Concrete 2021 in Las Vegas, noting the mDRIVE HD AMT is proven to improve performance, safety and uptime.
“We changed the game in 2019 with the introduction of the mDRIVE HD for the TerraPro concrete pumper, the industry’s first AMT for a cabover concrete pumper truck,” said Jonathan Randall, Mack Trucks senior vice-president of North American sales and commercial operations, in a release. “We’re building on that great success by expanding our offering to pair the mDRIVE HD with the Mack MP8 engine for customers requiring higher horsepower.”
Paired with the MP8 engine, delivering up to 505 horsepower and 1,860 lb.-ft. of torque, the AMT features split-shaft PTO functionality and offers the durability and power needed for high horsepower pumps.
