RFQ issued for Finch West LRT

Ontario’s Metrolinx has issued a request for qualifications for interested parties to design, build, finance and maintain the Finch West Light Rail Transit project.

The project will serve communities on the northwest edge of Toronto, linking them to the new Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension which is still underway.

The Finch West LRT will stretch 11 kilometres from the new Finch West subway station to Humber College. There will be 18 surface stops. The project also incorporates a maintenance and storage facility for the light rail vehicles.

The province hopes the LRT will transform the Finch Avenue West suburb into a vibrant community and provide economic and social benefits. The line will have dedicated lanes and signal priority at intersections.
