EllisDon is part of a select group of companies to be recognized by Waterstone Human Capital Ltd. for its outstanding corporate culture.

The construction giant is one of 10 winners in the Enterprise category (revenues above $500 million) of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures for 2013.

Overall, the program’s 30-member board of governors chose 10 winners in four categories: Enterprise, Mid-Market, Growth and Small Cap, and Broader Public
Sector.

Nominees were judged on six criteria: vision and leadership; recruitment and hiring for fit; cultural alignment and measurement; retention, rewards and recognition; organizational performance; and corporate social responsibility.

“EllisDon’s culture embodies their employees’ innovative spirit and strongly focuses on cultural fit, which sets them apart in their industry,” said Marty Parker, CEO of Waterstone. “EllisDon leaders encourage employees to bring their ideas to the table in an open way, which is both amazing to see in such a large organization, and a strong symbol of entrepreneurialism and
empowerment.”

This year’s program drew over 600 nominations from various privately held and publicly traded Canadian organizations.
