AECOM recently announced the appointment of two leaders to its Canadian Buildings and Places business. Based in Calgary, Michael Magnan will serve as urbanism and planning practice lead for the country. Glenn Hubick, who is based in Burnaby, B.C., will serve as managing principal for Buildings and Places in Alberta and British Columbia.

“We’re thrilled to have such experienced and talented professionals join our Buildings and Places team, particularly at a time when delivering sustainable and equitable infrastructure is more important than ever before,” said Walter Gaudet, senior vice-president and Canada region Buildings and Places lead. “Their ability to grow and lead successful teams will strengthen our position as a national firm that’s dedicated to delivering sustainable solutions and creating impactful change in cities across Canada.”

Magnan is an award-winning landscape architect and urban designer with nearly 20 years of experience in landscape architecture, urban development, community planning, green infrastructure, placemaking, and multi-modal transportation. His career spans progressive roles in both the public and private sectors, most recently serving as public realm lead for the City of Calgary.

Hubick is a multi-discipline project leader, program manager, and structural engineer with more than 35 years of experience in structural design. His project leadership and design experience span a broad range of projects from healthcare, institutional, commercial, and recreational buildings to bridges and industrial projects. He is skilled in all forms of traditional and alternative project delivery models.
