Kryton International Inc. has finished building a new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Calgary.

Cementec Industries (which Kryton acquired four years ago) operates the facility, which will be capable of at least 10 times the output of the previous plant. The company manufacturers Hard-Cem, a hardening admixture for concrete designed to improve resistance to abrasion and erosion.

“The acquisition of Cementec in 2017 supported our global strategy to provide our customers with products that support sustainable concrete construction,” says Kari Yuers, the President and CEO of Kryton.

She adds that these products reduce lifetime CO2 emissions, and are part of the company’s suite of Smart Concrete solutions, which aim to help builders address stricter builder standards and new OSHA regulations.
