Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, recently introduced its Leica iCON gps 160 construction Smart Antenna with features designed to increase productivity in all stakeout and measurement applications on a jobsite. This newest addition to the company’s line of Smart Antennas, like the others in the line, seamlessly integrates with all Leica iCON construction instruments and controllers as well as the company’s iCON field software for precise, real-time verification.

The iCON gps 160 can be used as a base station, a rover or for machine guidance. Besides checking grade, cut and fill, stakeout points and lines, users can also use it for basic-level GNSS machine guidance.

It comes with an integrated colour display, a user-friendly interface, smart setup wizards and an intuitive construction-specific workflow engineered to help contractors from day one. An optional tilt feature allows users to measure and stakeout points with a tilted pole, which extends the measurement possibilities on a construction site.
