Aecon, SNC-Lavalin joint venture awarded John Hart Generating Station project in BC

Aecon Group Inc. and SNC-Lavalin Constructors Pacific Inc. are teaming up for a civil construction project to replace the John Hart Generating Station in British Columbia.

The project involves the construction of a water bypass facility, a new underground generating station, a new water intake at the existing John Hart Spillway Dam, and replacement of three 1.8-km long above ground penstocks with a 2.1-km long tunnel.

Work on the project is expected to start in the second quarter of 2014 and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2018.
