Panel 1 – Mentorship, the learning path

Panellists:

  • Mat Baranowski
  • Alicia Milton
  • Jesse Unke
In this session, we will discuss career development from the perspective of professionals who have been previously recognized in On-Site Magazine’s 40 Under 40 in Canadian Construction program. Each year, many of the nominees vying for recognition in this popular industry program cite mentors who have contributed to their success in the industry. But how did they find a mentor? Did they work through a formal or informal mentorship arrangement? How often did they meet with their mentor? What did they find most valuable about having a mentor? And are they now paying it forward by sharing their experience with the next generation of future industry leaders?

With the company since 2010, he has rapidly progressed within its ranks, including working in leadership roles in Winnipeg and Edmonton. Region district, which encompasses more than 300 people managing over $1 billion in various construction projects across the region. He was a 40 Under 40 honouree in 2021.
