acquired Underground Specialties Inc.
Richard Ayuen, vice-president, waterworks, Wolseley Canada Inc. (Wolseley), has acquired all of the assets of Underground Specialties Inc. (Underground Specialties), including its three locations in Windsor, Chatham and Cambridge, Ont. Established in 1983, Underground Specialties is a distributor of water, sewage and drainage products, and a fabricator of concrete manholes and catch basins. Its customers include sewer, water main, hydro, and paving contractors, road builders, and municipalities. Wolseley is pleased to welcome all of Underground Specialties’ 28 employees to the Wolseley team. Employees from Underground Specialties’ three locations will report to Brian Scott, Waterworks General Manager, Ontario. The former Underground Specialties branches will continue to operate under the “Underground Specialties” branding as a division of Wolseley Canada Inc. “I am pleased to welcome the Underground Specialties employees to the Wolseley Canada team, and I am excited about our new capacity to provide greater service and selection to our Ontario customers,” said Ayuen. “Through years of hard work, dedication to customer service, and smart business management, the Underground team has established a strong reputation in southwestern Ontario, and I am looking forward to working with our newest team members to continue to build and grow that reputation.” The purchase of Underground Specialties enables Wolseley to further expand its national customer base and product and service offerings.
