PCL Constructors Inc. is continuing to build out its cloud-based construction platform through a new partnership wth AOMS Technologies.

The latest enhancement to the contractor’s smart construction tool, known as Job Site Insights (JSI), will put Internet of Things sensors on PCL job sites to keep track of metrics such as noise, vibration, air quality, energy consumption and concrete maturity and strength.

Mark Bryant, PCL’s chief information officer, said the partnership with the Toronto-based tech firm will significantly expand JSI’s capabilities.

“Extending and adding features to JSI is critically important in enabling the value we bring to the workface of construction,” he said in a release.

The Alberta-headquartered construction company has been continually adding features to its JSI platform over the past couple of years. Last month, for instance, it teamed up with Eddy Solutions on technology for detecting water leaks.

Data captured from AOMS’s sensors will be pulled automatically into JSI.
