Passing lane projects throughout the province feature prominently in the list of upcoming work

The Saskatchewan government has released its largest-ever fall tender schedule, consisting of several dozen highway repair and improvement projects worth a combined $437.4 million.

Greg Ottenbreit, the province’s Highways and Infrastructure Minister, said the earlier-than-usual release is a response to industry requests to give contractors a longer planning horizon.

“We have listened to industry and put the tender schedule out earlier than ever before, which mitigates the risk of rising prices and ensures the best value for the taxpayer,” he said in a Sept. 1 release.

The work package includes a series of passing lane projects on provincial highways, resurfacing work and a range of bridge and culvert repairs.
