Roadwork projects announced for Saint Andrews, N.B.

A $1.6 million investment has been announced for roadwork in Saint Andrews, N.B. as part of the province’s 2018-19 capital budget.

Funds from the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure will pave a 7.9-kilometre section of Route 127 from Clark Road to the Glebe Road area.

Through the Municipal Designated Highway Program, the government will also fund drainage improvements, culvert installation. A 500 metre shoulder of Bayvivew Drive from Cedar Lane to Marine Science Drive will also be widened.

Curbs and gutters will be installed on 300 metres of Mowat Drive between Bar Road and Thomas Avenue.

The Municipal Designated Highway Program allows municipalities to apply for funding assistance for capital upgrade projects. Funding for the program has more than doubled since the 2014-15 fiscal year, increasing to $25 million in 2015.
