With the shortest front and rear swing radius in its size class, Volvo Construction Equipment’s new EWR130E is built to perform in tight spaces while still offering considerable lifting performance and digging force.

The new mid-sized wheeled excavator is also poised to take advantage of what the OEM sees as a growth opportunity in the segment.

“We’ve seen demand grow for wheeled excavators in North America due to their combination of mobility and strong performance,” said John Waldron, the product manager for Wheeled Excavators at Volvo CE, in a release. “We’re pleased to add to one of the most complete line-ups on the market with our ninth wheeled excavator model.”

The excavator has four-wheel steering and in-line outrigger options, which the company says result in a machine that is easy to control and stable. It’s capable of lifting 9,480 pounds, at a reach of 19.7 feet, and packs a 121 horsepower engine.

Advanced tech features, such as the Volvo Dig Assist machine control system, are optional.
