Volvo Construction Equipment is enhancing its North American compact excavator range with two new models.
The five-ton ECR50 is entirely new to the continent, while the six-ton ECR58 is an update to the company’s D-series model.
“The ECR50 and ECR58 are ideal for rental markets and owner/operators who need a short-swing compact excavator that can nimbly work across a range of applications, including utilities, landscaping, road construction and more,” Darren Ashton, product manager for Volvo CE, said in a release.
With zero-tail-swing, on the ECR50 and a short-swing radius on the ECR58, both excavators are able to work in confined spaces. Among other features, they each include Volvo’s fuel-saving Eco mode, five-inch colour displays and are eligible for a free year of ActiveCare Direct, Volvo’s telematics service.
The equipment maker’s compact excavator lineup now includes 11 models, ranging from 1.8 to eight tons.
