Atlas Copco’s XAS 90 air compressor is a cost-effective option for utility and pneumatic-tool applications demanding as much as 88 cubic feet per minute of air power. The compressor has simple maintenance and minimal fuel consumption, providing power to one-person, one-tool jobs. The  HardHat™ canopy made of durable, weather-resistant polyethylene, protects the compressor’s 24-horsepower Kubota diesel engine from dust and debris to minimize repairs. The canopy also resists corrosion and fading, eliminating the need to repaint while contributing to its low cost of ownership and high resale value. A two-stage air intake filter with service indicator prevents dust and dirt from flowing into the engine and, ultimately, the compressor. The service indicator alerts the operator when the filter needs changing. The engine meets Tier 4 Final emission standards without requiring any exhaust after treatment components or filters, giving the operator maximum uptime between service intervals. The regulator continuously adjusts the engine’s speed to accommodate air demand, which allows the operator to maximize productivity between refills. The compressor’s spillage-free frame contains 100 percent of the unit’s fluids if a leak occurs, eliminating the risk of accidentally contaminating  jobsites. The small 40 square-foot working space footprint allows easy maneuverability through narrow, cramped workspaces and makes storage in a garage or rental yard easy. The 1,165-pound compressor is mounted to a single-axle trailer for maximum portability and can be towed by small automobiles. The trailer axle can be removed to accommodate a support frame that can be mounted to a truck bed, trailer or any other platform, making it ideal for utility and small-scale sandblasting applications. The XAS 90’s controls are grouped on a single panel to provide quick, hassle-free operation. A durable cover protects the controls against harsh worksite conditions and weather. Atlas Copco also offers a wide range of optional features for the compressor, including wheel chocks, a loose ball coupling and an Occupational Safety and Health Administration-rated valve that automatically shuts off the air flow if a surge occurs, which prevents a loose hose from whipping and minimizes the risk of injuries. www.atlascopco.com
