Michelin to launch next generation of TWEEL airless skid steer tires

Michelin will launch its X TWEEL SSL 2 — the airless tire solution for skid steers — in both all-terrain (AT) and hard-surface (HST) versions Aug. 1. The tire is Michelin’s first embedded eight bolt hub that is interlocked mechanically, designed to increase durability. It features improved shear beam construction and a new spoke formulation. The TWEEL SSL 2 has a maximum load of 4,400 lbs. The HST model is constructed with a 48/32-in. tread depth with 8/32-in. of undertread, while the AT is constructed with a 31/32-in. tread depth with 12/32-in. of undertread.
