Liebherr launches new demolition excavator to complement existing lineup

Liebherr has launched a new crawler excavator designed for demolition that replaces its R 944 C and complements two machines already on the market.

The manufacturer introduced the new R 940 Demolition to the global market last month, building off more than five decades of development of excavators built specifically for deconstruction.

Among other new features, the R 940 includes the Liebherr Demolition Control System, which shows the operator the precise position of the demolition tool and tilt angle of the excavator, helping to improve the stability of the machine and warning the operator of limits.

The new excavator also has a cab capable of tilting up to 30 degrees to improve views of the working area.
