With a 12 per cent wider track gauge and 47 per cent lower ground pressure than the D155AX-8, the new LGP (low ground pressure) variant of the Komatsu America dozer delivers improved floatation and stability compared to its standard cousin.

“The D155AX-8 LGP is excellent for applications that require lower ground pressure and can be especially useful for energy and pipeline work,” said Chuck Murawski, a product manager at Komatsu America. “When equipped with 38-inch (965-milimetre) extreme service shoes, angle blade, and towing winch, the D155AX-8 LGP has a higher operating weight compared to competitors for increased useable drawbar pull with a powerful towing winch.”

Komatsu is offering either a large capacity semi-u blade or an angle blade on the new 354 horsepower dozer.

The machine has a higher weight than the standard D155AX-8, but the wider track lowers its ground pressure to just 7.7 psi (53 KPa).
