Excavator manufacturer Kobelco has reintroduced its SK17SR-3E mini excavator with a range of new features and design enhancements.

The compact machine, designed for small jobs, or working in confined spaces, has been outfitted with a redesigned cab that features a reclining seat and new wrist rests. To improve visibility and simplify operation, all switches in the cab have been back-lit and LED working lights line the excavator’s boom.

“When developing our mini excavators, a key focus for us is to ensure that performance is not compromised by the machine’s small size,” Peter Stuijt, product manager for Kobelco, said in a release. “In the case of the SK17SR-3E, the machine is not only competitive in terms of arm crowding force (8.7 kN) and bucket digging force (15.2 kN), but its newly designed and comfortable interior also makes it particularly attractive to operators.”

The SK17SR-3E is designed to provide access and performance in tight spaces. It can pass through areas as narrow as one-metre-wide and is available in zero or short tail swing versions, depending on whether it is outfitted with a canopy or cab.
