Husqvarna Construction has premiered its latest power cutter, the first utilizing its new Pace battery system, as the equipment maker aims to take the lead in shifting from petrol to battery-powered equipment.

The new K1 Pace, offers the same power and performance as gas-powered cutters but runs on battery.

“We see an increasing number of construction companies striving for carbon-neutral workplaces and as a leading supplier we feel a responsibility to contribute, together with our partners and customers, towards greater sustainability,” said Mattias Holmdahl, global product manager for Power Cutters at Husqvarna, in a release.

Premiering last week at World of Concrete, the new cutter includes diamond blades optimized for battery operation. It is also equipped with the company’s X-Halt brake function, capable of stopping the rotation of a blade in a fraction of a second.

Husqvarna is expected to open sales for the new K1 Pace during the second half of this year, with further technical specifications available once sales start.
