Hitachi’s newest addition to its Dash-6 lineup, ZX670LC-6 and the ZX870LC-6, are powered by EPA Final Tier 4 (FT4)/EU Stage IV Isuzu engines that feature the latest engine technologies and do not require a diesel particulate filter. The two upgraded excavators feature a new, FT4 Isuzu engine. The ZX670LC-6 offers 463 hp while the ZX870LC-6 boasts 512 hp. The FT4 field-proven technology employs cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR). An improved piston design allows particulate matter to be burned in cylinder, so there’s no need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF). Fuel and DEF consumption is equal or reduced compared to the ZX670LC-5 or ZX870LC-5 (Interim Tier 4/EU Stage IIIB) consumption. Maintenance has been simplified with features such as a battery disconnect switch, spin-on fuel filters and two additional water separators to maintain long fuel filter life. Engine and hydraulic oil sample ports allow for quick and convenient, proactive maintenance checks, which keep you running longer. They feature an expansion tank in the cooling system that enhances air pursing, provides make-up fluid when needed and improves overall cooling efficiency. An improved step position on the track frame and walkways on the upper structure let the operator or technician easily move around the machine while effortlessly maintaining the appropriate points of contact to the machine. Other features of these models include: Generous swing torque, digging force and lift capacity; spacious cabs designed for operator comfort and productivity; standard upper structure handrails for added safety and accessibility; easy-to-operate controls for smooth and responsive hydraulics; highly efficient cooling systems.
