John Deere has introduced a new mechanical angle blade for its 950K and 1050K crawler dozers

Designed based on customer feedback, the blade can be angled side to side, making jobs like backfilling and rough grading easier.

“Understanding the crippling impact downtime can have, we designed the John Deere mechanical blade to be stronger and more durable,” said Nathan Horstman, product marketing manager for crawler dozers at John Deere Construction & Forestry, in a release. “From performance improvements to features that provide better serviceability, our customers can be confident when running a machine equipped with the new blade option.”

The blade has an improved profile compared to previous versions and is designed to reduce blade plugging. The approach angle on the blade has been increased 29 per cent for both the 950K and 1050K. Blade weight has also been reduced and reinvested in the C-frame, which Deere said results in better overall weight distribution and improved durability.
