With three engine modes to match the toughness of the job, the new Cat 317 and 317 GC excavators are designed to deliver better performance and lower operating costs.

Significant fuel savings from the engine modes on the Next Gen models, as well as a new main valve control that eliminates hydraulic pilot lines improve efficiency.

For the 317, Cat says operating efficiency is up to 45 per cent better than in previous models. Tech features such as Cat Grade Assist and Cat Grade with 2D come standard, with upgrades to Cat Grade with Advance 2D or Cat Grade with 3D readily available. Cat Payload technology is also standard on the 317, providing on-the-go data on payload, fuel usage and fault codes to boost fleet management efficiency.

Both the 317 and 317 GC reduce maintenance costs by up to 20 per cent compared to the equipment maker’s previous series.

Larger cab designs for both new models are geared toward improving operator comfort as well as visibility.
