The Bobcat S740 skid-steer loader is powered by a Tier 4 engine that is under 75 horsepower and doesn’t require a diesel particulate filter (DPF), selective catalytic reduction (SCR) or diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). It uses a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) to meet Tier 4 emission standards. The DOC is a special catalyst that reacts with engine exhaust upon contact and transforms combustion byproducts into substances like water and carbon dioxide. The non-DPF solution was achieved by designing an ultra-low particulate combustion (ULPC) engine. The ULPC is accomplished through a specially designed engine combustion chamber that significantly reduces the amounts of particulate matter created during combustion. The vertical-lift-path machine can lift loads higher, making it easier to clear high-sided truck boxes and hoppers. An optional high-flow hydraulic option of 30.5 gpm gives S740 operators more attachment power, boosting machine productivity. The S740 features a unique cab-forward design that moves the operator closer to the attachment for visibility in all directions and has one of the largest cab door openings offering visibility to attachments and particularly to the cutting edge and corners of a bucket. Windows on the sides and rear of the cab are larger in size to provide more visibility to the tires and back of the machine. The larger top window makes it easier and more comfortable for the operator when performing tasks like loading trucks or tall hoppers. The loader has a pressurized cab with a one-piece seal that goes all the way around the door and fits into a curved pocket, minimizing the amount of dirt and dust that might enter the cab. Operators have the choice between standard foot pedal hydraulic controls, the Advanced Control System (ACS) or the Selectable Joystick Controls (SJC). Simple check points and design elements make it easyr to perform maintenance at the proper intervals. The auxiliary quick couplers are mounted directly to the front plate of the lift arm to provide a solid mounting, and hoses are routed through the loader arms for better protection. A guard bar extends in the front of the coupler for added protection. Quick Points: Rated operating capacity: 3100 lb.
