Bobcat introduces E26 Compact Excavator
November 6, 2019 by Megan Hoegler
Bobcat has expanded its R-series excavator lineup to include the E26 compact excavator.
The E26 has been redesigned for optimal performance, uptime protection and operator comfort. Minimal tail overhang allows it to work in limited-space environments.
The E26 has an operating weight of 6,489 pounds and a bucket digging force of 5,652 pounds per foot. It has a maximum reach at ground level of 4.8 metres, a maximum dig depth of 2.87 metres and a maximum dump height of 3.1 metres.
The excavator’s boom swing frame stays within the width of the machine’s tracks as it swings, making it easier to perform in confined job site conditions and next to buildings where larger earthmoving equipment, such as a tractor loader backhoe, can’t fit.
The R-series E26 has 19 per cent more glass surface area, giving operators a panoramic view of the job site while using the excavator. The cab is designed to be more spacious and comfortable for operators of any size. Like other R-Series excavators, there is ample floor space in the E26 for the operator’s feet and legs. The cab has been designed to be quieter than ever before, reducing sound levels inside of the cab and providing additional comfort to the operator.
Low-effort joystick controls have been designed for easy use and the increased cylinder size provides ample lifting ability. The E26 offers the best lift capacity for its size and a narrow width for easy trailer loading and working through doorways, gates, property lines or other tight areas.
The 24.8-horsepower diesel engine does not require a diesel particulate filter (DPF) or selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to meet Tier 4 emission requirements.
The E26 is approved for use with the Bobcat auger, clamp, grading blade, grading buckets, hydraulic breaker, nitrogen breaker, packer wheel, three-tine grapple and trenching bucket attachments. Second auxiliary hydraulics can be installed by the local Bobcat dealer to provide additional hydraulic flow for enhanced attachment performance.
