Bobcat, Green Machine partner on new zero emissions, electric machines

Doosan Bobcat North America and Green Machine Equipment Inc. have struck a new partnership that will see the two manufacturers collaborate on battery-powered electric excavators.

“This strategic partnership marks another key milestone in our drive to bring the latest technologies to our customers and accelerate electrification in our industry,” Joel Honeyman, vice-president of Global Innovation at Doosan Bobcat, said in a release.

Under the partnership, Green Machine will custom retrofit Bobcat excavators with their proprietary battery technology to replace the machine’s conventional diesel power sources. The aim is to produce excavators with equivalent power and performance, but with considerably lower daily operating costs, zero emissions, reduced noise and minimal maintenance.

Urban areas are one of the key markets for the all-electric excavators.
