Equipment maker Komatsu did not keep things small at Conexpo 2020. The company showed off its updated WA800-8, 254,700-pound wheel loader.
The piece of heavy equipment is geared mainly toward quarry, aggregate, and mining applications — particularly loading heavy haul trucks.
Among other upgrades, the loader’s cab has been rebuilt with a 7-inch high resolution monitor, a heated and ventilated air-suspension operator seat and enhanced visibility. The WA800-8 also incorporates automatic dig, semi-automatic approach and semi-automatic dump functions to simplify operations.
To lower the cost of ownership on what the model it calls its most durable ever, Komatsu has extended transmission and axle overhaul intervals.
