Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has named Darren Tasker as its new regional head of Energy and Construction for North America. He joins the AGCS North America Executive Management Team (EMT) and now reports to Bill Scaldaferri, president and CEO, North America.

Tasker has been with AGCS since 2010. For the past nine years, he has headed up the company’s energy and construction business for the Canadian market. During this time, he built and developed a diverse team of experienced and professional underwriters. Tasker, who will remain based in Toronto, now has overall responsibility for the AGCS Energy and Construction line of business across North America, which includes such industries as oil and gas (energy), power generation and utilities, mining and construction.

“We are pleased to announce that Darren will be leading our North American Energy and Construction business,” said Scaldaferri. “This is the first time that a North American business line will be run by an individual based in Canada, demonstrating the strength of our team north of the border.”

AGCS is a leading global corporate insurance carrier and a key business unit of Allianz Group providing risk consultancy, property-casualty insurance solutions and alternative risk transfer for a wide spectrum of commercial, corporate and specialty risks across nine dedicated lines of business and six regional hubs.
