Ottawa said April 12 it will contribute $17.4 million to the trio of projects. Yukon will chip in $5.8 million, while the City of Whitehorse will add $300,000.
Just short of $8 million will pay for repaving 22 kilometres of the city’s roads, while the remaining funding will be funnelled toward public building upgrades.
The city’s service building is set for a $10.5 million renovation and expansion. Meanwhile, the heating, ventilation, electrical and mechanical systems within Whitehorse City Hall will be upgraded as part of a $5 million renovation project.
