The Government of Canada and the Province of Saskatchewan have announced support for a wastewater project in the Town of Langham. The Town, with its close proximity to Saskatoon, is experiencing demand for growth. The new wastewater lagoon increases reliability and capacity of the Town’s wastewater system. It also accommodates an increase in population and economic development. This project also protects surrounding soil and groundwater at the lagoon site from wastewater contaminants.

The federal and provincial governments will each contribute up to $1,948,100 for this project. Contributions come through the New Building Canada Fund’s Provincial Territorial Infrastructure Component-National Regional Projects. The Town of Langham will be responsible for all remaining costs. The total project cost is $6,079,090.

“The Town of Langham is very thankful for the funding announcement that is being made today for our wastewater treatment lagoon. This investment in infrastructure is integral to the future growth of the town. Funding from the federal and provincial government is vital to having this project proceed,” said John Hildebrand, Mayor of Langham.
