Two major milestones have been reached in the Union Pearson Express project to provide a much-needed air-rail link from Toronto’s Pearson Airport to Union Station downtown.
A self-erecting tower crane has been installed to facilitate construction of one of the UP Express stations at Union Station, and after six months of construction work at Pearson Airport the UP Express station at Terminal 1 is 75 per cent complete.
The Union Pearson Express is on schedule to be ready for the 2015 for the Pan/Parapan American Games.
When completed, it will run every 15 minutes and make two stops (one at Bloor/Dundas streets, another at Weston GO station) during the 25-km. trip between Union Station and Pearson Airport.
