Stockwell Day assumes executive role with WesternOne

Stockwell Day has been appointed to WesternOne’s board of directors in an effort to bolster the company’s senior management team.

Day has served as Canada’s Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway and Regional Minister for British Columbia. He currently sits on the board of the Canada India Business Council and is vice-chairman of the Canada China Business Council.

“Stockwell Day’s service at the most senior levels of the provincial and federal governments will be of enormous benefit as we continue to expand our business operations in Canada and abroad,” said Darren Latoski, CEO of WesternOne.

Day’s national and international experience will provide an important strategic perspective on the opportunities available to WesternOne, he added.

WesternOne has acquired businesses in Alberta, Texas and Australia over the past two years.

WesternOne Rentals and Sales – the company’s infrastructure services division headquartered in Calgary, Alta. – operates 15 locations with 275 employees, and is looking to expand across Canada.

“I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of such a dynamic Canadian business,” said Day.
