SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a $42 million contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to assist in the relocation of a hospital in South Korea.
The Quebec-based contractor will perform initial outfitting and transition services. The contract will include equipment and move planning, as well as purchasing of medical equipment.
SNC-Lavalin completed a similar project in South Korea in September 2017.
“Winning this award is a reflection of our team’s recent, successful performance on the Korean Peninsula,” said Nick Roberts, president of SNC-Lavalin’s engineering, design and project management sector. “We are happy to have been brought back for this larger hospital project.”
The 30-month contract is a joint venture with U.S.-based consulting firm, Covalus.
Brian Allgood Army Community Hospital and associated buildings in Seoul, South Korea, will be relocated to Camp Humphreys, South Korea – a U.S. army garrison.
The contract was signed by SNC-Lavalin’s Faithful+Gould business, which it acquired on July 3, 2017.
The new hospital facility consists of a single, multi-story building housing an ambulatory care clinic and a 68-bed hospital, totalling 418,572 square feet with an adjacent parking structure and central utility plant.
The hospital will serve approximately 65,000 patients.
