Qualico’s headquarters obtains LEED Silver status

Qualico’s head office building in Winnipeg, Man. has been awarded LEED Silver certification.

The real estate development company’s three storey, 65,000 sq. ft. building achieved the silver status for a variety of features, including: energy-efficient windows, a geothermal mechanical system,

green roofs, a building management system and water efficient plumbing fixtures.

“A significant challenge was to ensure the building operated as intended and part of the LEED program was to complete comprehensive commissioning of all building systems,” said Brian Cornelsen, Qualico project manager.

The facility also features 6,300 sq. ft. of outdoor gardens and rooftop patio.

Qualico’s Winnipeg headquarters is home to more than 150 employees.
