Police lay charges following Winnipeg construction site theft

The Winnipeg Police Service arrested three people after an overnight theft at a construction site.

Several items had been stolen from the construction site, located in the 200 block of Hamilton Avenue, including a generator worth approximately $60,000. Police were notified on Nov. 26 and members of the Major Crimes Unit began an investigation shortly after. They recovered the stolen generator and took three people into custody after executing a search warrant.

Along with recovering the stolen property from the construction site, a piece of equipment taken from an unrelated construction site in May 2017 was found.

Ronald Scott Jensen, a 51-year-old male, has been charged with Break Enter & Theft – Place as well as Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000. He was detained in custody. Police also arrested an unidentified 43-year-old female currently facing charges of Break Enter and Theft– Place, who was released on a Promise to Appear.
