Parsons, Lafarge, Graham among Alberta transportation award winners

The Alberta government presented awards for construction and design innovation, among others, at its annual Minister’s Awards for Transportation Innovation.

A total of six awards were presented at the Red Deer ceremony. Categories included: design, construction, environmental, safety, operational and transit/accessible transportation.

CH2M (now Jacobs), the City of Calgary, Parsons, Westpro, Rapid Span, Lafarge, RJ Watson Inc. and Goal Engineering were presented the Award of Excellence for Design Innovation in recognition of the 12th Street South East Bridge Replacement project in Calgary, Alta.

The Award of Excellence for Construction Innovation was presented to the City of Calgary, ISL Engineering and Land Services and Graham Infrastructure for the MacLeod Trail and 162 Avenue South – Diverging Diamond Interchange, also in Calgary.

An awards evaluation committee selected award recipients. Committee representatives include: Transportation, Consulting Engineers of Alberta, Alberta Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association, Alberta Urban Municipalities Association and the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties.
