Bockstael Construction is laying the groundwork for a future leadership succession with the appointment of Carmine Militano as president.

John Bockstael, previously the company’s president and CEO, will step back from the operational role, giving Militano oversight of the company’s day-to-day affairs. John Bockstael will remain CEO, focussing on strategy, innovation and mentorship.

“Carmine has made significant contributions to Bockstael that have propelled our growth,” John Bockstael, said in a release. “His thought leadership is a great asset to our company. I am confident in entrusting him with overall direction of operations.”

The Manitoba-based general contractor also noted the changes include an increase in the breadth of the roles of both Nick and Dan Bockstael, vice-presidents of, respectively, Construction and Pre-Construction. The company said Nick and Dan Bockstael, who were recently named to the inaugural 40 Under 40 in Canadian Construction. will work closely with Militano “to further Bockstael’s growth trajectory.”
