Contractor and construction management firm Govan Brown has appointed public sector infrastructure veteran Melissa Moffitt as vice-president of the company’s Federal Services division.

With experience leading high-performance sales teams and fostering strategic partnerships for both public and private sector clients, Moffitt will provide leadership and executive oversight on Govan Brown’s federal pursuit strategy as the company works for growth in the public sector.

“We are thrilled to welcome Melissa to the Govan Brown family,” Joseph Kirk, the company’s president, said in a release. “With the federal government’s investment in Canadian construction as a key part of the stimulation to economic recovery, Melissa joins at a particularly opportune time. Her accomplishments in public procurement strategy and growth are a tremendous asset and will ensure we are contributing in a meaningful way to the economic health of our country.”

Most recently, Govan Brown said, Moffitt held the position of director of business development and senior account executive at a leading infrastructure and real estate consulting firm, where she spent more than a decade managing the firm’s key federal accounts.
