Ledcor Construction has been awarded a $6.4 million contract to modernize the Penticton Airport Terminal Building in Penticton, B.C.

The airport’s main concourse will be reconfigured, and additional space will be created for an expanded arrivals hall, baggage claim area and new food service.

New airline check-in counters, offices and rental car kiosks will also be constructed, as well as a new set of washrooms. Existing pre-board screening room, holdroom and baggage storage areas will be expanded.

This project builds on a previous holdroom expansion in spring 2016, which doubled the seating capacity. Transport Canada aims to expand seating capacity again for the holdroom and improve wheelchair accessibility.
